Both ensembles Xasax et Makrokosmos (quartet for 2 pianos and 2 percussions) will unite their strengths in a new project proposed by the Witten Festival : we shall premiere a new and very consequent piece by the Austrian composer Bernhard Lang : Monadology XV in Witten in april 2013

The piece is conceived as a double tribute to Iannis Xenakis and John Coltrane, two figures of XXth century music whose works are particularly dear to us.

Both groups had already met previously in the Royaumont Abbey within the 2012 Session of Composition conducted by Brian Ferneyhough, Raphaël Cendo and Alberto Posadas.
They premiered a short but particularly interesting piece by the young Irish composer Piaras Hoban : " stamme: nahuskild "
